A Note To My Readers

A Note To My Readers

Text:

Hey there. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably paid some sort of attention to this blog of mine in the past. I bet I can guess why…that one post “Anxiety Is An Invalid Excuse.” Let’s talk about that for a second.

Posting the article was an uncensored leap of faith, and it has undeniably changed my life. I went from being just another girl who writes to being the face of a mental health issue I had only just begun to come to terms with myself. While all praise for my “bravery” and “transparency” has been well appreciated, I had to take a little time to go silent. Why? Because I love that I was able to reach such a large audience who needed to hear my message, but being known as the “anxiety girl” came with some unexpected personal consequences that forced me to evaluate who I am and what I’d like to be known for. I am not ashamed of my familiarity with mental health issues, but at the same time, it’s very far from all that I am.

So here we are nearly a year later and I’m sitting on a blog with millions of new readers a month, all for one article that while incredibly important, doesn’t show much of who I truly am. I’ve spoken with many of you personally via Instagram and Twitter. You’ve asked me about myself. I’ve asked about you. And now, I’m deciding to let you in a little bit more. It’s time for
justcutthebullshit to advance past its starting point. I’ll continue to post prose and speak on mental health, but I’d like to invite you into my everyday life, too. From books to skincare to
pending road trips, I want to show you who I really am and what I really love, past the anxiety that you’ve all shown your love for.

I hope you’ll stick around and join me in this new chapter. I’d love to hear your thoughts, what you want to know about me, and what you’d like to see me explore. As always, my inboxes are open and ready to get know all of you a little bit better. Send me your questions, your concerns, anything you’d like me to address, and I’ll feature them in a Q&A post in the upcoming weeks.
